Decade
A Decade is where the front end of the bike (bars, fork, front wheel) and the rider spin around while the rear end (frame and behind) stay stationary. Took Fred Blood ten days to learn, hence the name.How-To Decade (Steps)
- Roll forward at low speed standing with both feet on the rear pegs and holding the handlebars
- Squeeze the front and rear brakes hard and do a small endo of maybe 8 to 10 inches (aided by the momentum of the forward roll). The brakes must be applied throughout the trick
- As your bike's rear wheel leaves the ground, lift your right foot and place it where the top tube and the seat tube meet
- When the rear wheel comes back to the ground, pull the front end of the bike upwards and toward you (aided by the momentum from the endo)
- Start to jump around the top of the bike (the headset, at this point, since your front wheel is in the air) using only your right foot. Don't jump off the peg with your left foot, you only need to swing the left leg around the top
- Land on the other side of the bike with your left foot anywhere on the top tube
- Once the front wheel is back on the ground, release both brakes to allow for a slight roll, put your right foot on your right pedal and ride away!
Tips:
- Before you start the trick, make sure your right pedal is placed forward and maybe slightly below horizontal to make the ride-out easier
- Depending on how low your seat is, you may need to adjust your seat height to make room for your foot
- At the height of your jump, both your shins will be at handlebar level
- When you first do the endo, it helps if you move your rear tire a little to the left when it's in the air (6 to 8 inches) in order to get more leverage for the pull
- The front end pull is actually a combination of pull up towards you and a little to your left and rotating your handlebars clockwise. This part is hard to put in writing because a few things are happening in one motion, so you'll just have to get the feel for it ---- Tricks»»Tricks#Ground Tricks|Ground Tricks»»Tricks#Others|Others
