Megaspin

How-To Megaspin

Prerequisite: Dork Wheelie This is a trick that you think you know it when you can spin 1 circle but you'll never experience the full effect until you can spin infinitely. You don't need brakes and should NOT be using them at all during the learning of this trick. There are two parts to this trick. # The pivot (When your bike starts travelling in backwards circles instead of forwards circles as a result of of quick turn from the forwards pos.) # The spin (Maintaining your bikes spinning rotation.) The pivot is something that you will learn in roughly 1 week. Do not try to do this trick with both feet on the pegs. Start with one foot on the back peg and the other foot out. Swing your free foot around to initiate the spin. Wait patiently for about 1/10th of a second for the bike to pivot. In order for this to happen you must have pulled the bike sideways enough to cause the spin, and you must have pulled up enough for the bike to want to shoot out from under you if you didn't squeak it. But you should squeak (pulling down on the tire hard with your foot.) Understand now that your squeak should be hard but accurate, as you will likely have a hard time finding the sweet spot for the squeaking of this trick, i sure did. This first squeak is most important as it determines how the rest of your spin flows. If you did it correctly while maintaining a perfect balance, you will be on to the next part of this trick. The spin is harder to get, as it will takes months to fully master. There are two ways to spin in this trick. I learned both at the same time. The first is to turbine (pivot repeadedly) to keep spinning, and it is also the funnest way to do this trick. You squeak hard before every change of direction, then glide it out until it's ready for the next squeak. The second and more stable/easier method is to lean the bike and squeak it. In either case, you will need to squeak carefully and appropriate to your axis of spin. Ultimately, your bike should be doing all the work and all you need to do is control the tilt of it and squeak at every propper interval. If you choose to not turbine this, than you will notice that your bike will only be travelling backwards and never forwards. This means you've got it. This trick is one of the funnest to do, but don't expect it to come easilly. Once you learn to pivot into this trick, you should practice it a few dozens of times every day to ensure a hope of ever spinning this forever. However, unfortunately, people do get dizzy; so you may have to limit your revolutions to 15 or so complete circles, or risk completely crashing. Remember that squeaking as hard as you can and as quickly as you can will not make you progress at all with this trick, or with any other. Essentially having yourself rotating at the center of your bike will conjure the mastery of the mega spin. Note also that, in general, you should only squeak after your bike has spun to the last bit of coasting from your last squeak. If your bike is still unravelling your last spin, you must hang tough till you position it for the next squeak. On another note, once you have acquired the spinomics of the spin, you can actually multiply the result by coasting out of the trick longer, and coasting into it longer. All said, you will look like a figure skater with this trick down your pants. ---- Tricks»»Tricks#Ground Tricks|Ground Tricks»»Tricks#Spinning Tricks|Spinning
