X-Up

The X-Up (less commonly known as a Cross Up) is one of the oldest tricks in Bike Stunt. It's called an X-Up because when you do it, your arms form an X. There is also a variation called an X-Down, which is turning an X-Up the opposite way you normally would. The X-Up is a very good beginner trick. It doesn't require a lot of air, and it's easy to build up to it. The best way to learn the motion would be to try it during a Manual. Simply pull up on bars, so the front wheel comes off the ground, and try and turn the bars around 180 degrees and back again before your wheel lands back on the ground. Once you can do this consistently, you're ready to try it off a jump.

How-To X-Up

Whether you're doing this trick off of a Quarter Pipe, Double, or Fly Out, the idea is the same. When you're in the air, simply turn the bars just like you did in the Manual. Turn them as far as the air time will allow, turn them back and get ready to land. However, it's not generally the best idea to crank it around the whole way your first try. As you learn it, turn the bars a little bit your first time, and with each jump turn them more and more as you get more comfortable with the motion. ''Common Mistakes:''
 - Do not pull or push on the bars as you turn them, this will make your bike kick out to one side, and you will land croooked. ''Tips''
 - You should first try them off of a lip into grass for a precaution if you are to fall. Category:Tricks
